Ok gang I need some insight into casting a pair of RP world families!

The played by ladies are Clemence Poesy (from the HP series) and Eliza Dushku circa her Bring it On and early BtVS days. They both need older brothers, 1 for Clemence and 2 for Eliza. Clemence will also need a pair of parents in played by form.

Suggestions?

Writers Strike Matters AKA Vampire Solidarity Rocks

On November 5, 2007 the Writers Guild Of America went on strike.

This one is on "indefinitely".

We must support their cause, even when that means months between new episodes.

We merely have to exercise some patience.

The WGA Supporters Community -- launched a plan; Fandom Liaisons, in the mind state that a certain person within one show would be the connection to the others, and the strike as it continues on, in the fandom that is Moonlight, that person is me.

On Monday the WGA and AMPTP will recommence negotiations. The FFWGA wishes them Godspeed. However, our support cannot waver. I must stress: we will not stop campaigning on the writers’ behalf until the contract is signed, sealed, delivered, and serenaded by Stevie Wonder.

That is why on Monday and Tuesday, when normal business hours commence [nine a.m to six p.m] we ask that everyone who's ever seen Moonlight *or insert fandom of choice* to call the numbers listed below, and post a link to so the word will be spread around..

1.212.975.4321
1.212.975.4545 (This is a direct line)
Les Moonves, CBS

1.818.560.1000
Anne Sweeny, ABC

1.310.369.1000
Kevin Reilly, Fox

1.818.954.6000
Bruce Rosenblum, Warner Bros.

1.212.258.6000
Phillippe Dauma, Viacom

1.818.777.1000
Jeff Zucker, NBC Universal

Before we get to it though, we should all keep the following in mind:

* Your call will last about 30 seconds. Yup. That short.

* The person that answers the phone is not going to fight with you. They are not going to be combative. The last thing that they want now is more bad publicity. Or, even worse, to make the fan girls and fan boys angry. If someone is rude (I don't mean curt or short, I mean flat out rude here) or yells or anything like that, let us know. But I seriously doubt that would happen. Really. If what we have read is true, these folks are new and they have gotten tossed to the wolves. Remember, when Les asks about the people that called, you want his assistant to say "a nice person from Indiana called" as opposed to "some whack job from Indiana called."

* Don't worry about panicking when Les picks up the phone. He won't. If he does, I will eat my hat. And yours. And his. And don't call him Bruce, or jackass or whatever other nicknames you may have for him. It will be painful, but refer to him as Mr. Moonves.

* Remember Patrick Swayze in Roadhouse? Take his advice and be nice. As much as you will want to tell them what they can do for being greedy bastards or messing with the vampires, don't. You will come off crazy and bitter and you will get chucked into the nutter file. You will be written off as an internet crazy.

The phone number for Les Moonves is: 1.212.975.4321 or
1.212.975.4545 (This is a direct line)

Ok, you have the number and you are ready to call.
The conversation will most likely look something like this:

The Conversation

Assistant to LM: "Les Moonves's Office"

You: "Hi. My name is *insert your name* and I am calling from Cleveland, Ohio."
And you can just give your first name. Don't panic. There is no master list that I know of. They are most likely ticking off demographic information – 5 women from Ohio, 2 men from California, etc.

Assistant: "Uh huh"

You: "I am a loyal viewer of Moonlight and I wanted to let you know that I am asking that Mr. Moonves and the other executives come to an agreement with Writers Guild of America and end the WGA strike. The writers are only asking for their fair share of the profits. Also, I wanted to let you know that during the course of the WGA strike, I will not be watching any programs on the internet or watching any replacement programming, nor will I be downloading any episodes, whether through the CBS site or anything else.

Think about an anecdote that will help you seem more like a person and not just a blip on a chart to add here. "I'm looking forward to the next act of the Morgan also being Coraline storyline" That sort of thing. Mention that you have now started to watch Moonlight after a certain episode. It helps you seem real. Don't make stuff up, but add things to make it more personal.

Assistant: "Thank you for your comment."

You: "Thank you."

And that is it.

Yup, that quick. That is the basic format.

It doesn't have to be long or indepth, but by all means add to it if you want to. I'm going to toss in being a fan of Jason Dohring's since Veronica Mars and discovering Alex O'Loughlin and Sophia Myles. Are you a fan of the ongoing storyline about Morgan being Coraline? Tell them that. Have you been a fan of Shannyn Sossamon via her film work and now as Coraline? Tell them that as well.

Be careful though, and don't throw out empty, angry threats. Don't say "unless you settle the strike now, I am never going to watch CBS again!" Really? C'mon…you know you will watch when the show comes back… and so do they.

If you want to make a trial run, call the number for one of your friends and talk it out.

Moonlight may be a new show but this is a show that is worth fighting for.

I hope that this was helpful. If anyone has any questions, I am happy to help.

And please, feel free to share this with anyone, on any site that might find it useful.
We all have those extra cell phone minutes hanging around, why not put them to good use?

© chadini at (with unique to Moonlight parts added by me).

Quick intro for the WIP DW/SOUE crossover

(nope, don't own anything from DW or SOUE. Only borrowing Violet and the Doctor for some crossover fun and nerd bonding)

Title: Alone in the World (1/?)
Characters: Violet Baudelaire, Tenth Doctor, guest appereance by Jack Harkness and Ianto Jones in later chapter
Rating: G but may change in later chapters
Spoilers: Possible for various epsiodes but nothing right now. Set post "Last of the Time Lords"
Non beta'd but its still early and this is only a small intro

<lj-cut text="Weird Science.">

Violet Baudelaire was alone on a beach somewhere near Brighton and she only wanted one thing: answers. But the young inventor was too caught in her private misery to see a blue police box appear nearby.

The Doctor had gotten lost again and the TARDIS had landed on the same beach. When he stepped outside he almost crashed into Violet. Being very polite Violet simply stated,"Excuse me sir, but which way into Brighton?". But the Doctor could see the darkness buring within Violet,"Tea? You look like you could use an ear before getting directions". Violet being Violet had no idea how this person knew what she had been through but she could somehow see he was nothing like Count Olaf. "Yes, I do accept" letting The Doctor lead her into The TARDIS. That was when she saw the sonic screwdriver in the Doctor's pocket,"You know, I invent as well" finally letting some of her guard down around The Doctor. The Doctor could see the small kit full of parts Violet had found along the beach along with a pet project of hers: a means to contact after her and her family escaped from the island.

Her first reaction: "It's much bigger on the inside!". Her eyes for that split second seemed to lose some of the darkness as the nerd within took over,"Is this your invention?" she asked. Of course Violet has no idea Time Lords are the real thing and like her The Doctor has seen his own share of darkness along the way. But the Doctor could easily see himself in the younger woman, the same ongoing darkness and depression.

She looked alone in the world, the same way he felt at that moment.....

But the Doctor could see one thing that was wrong: Violet looking very close to passing out from not sleeping for about 3 weeks.

TBC

Things are now as weird as Mushroom Samba in CB terms.I wrote a few weeks ago about my borther's heath scare, turns out it's a non life threating genetic thing.I have no clue otherwise what the deal is but he has more testing to be sure

On a lighter front I am now a full blown Wolf's Rain junkie, does not hurt it has CB ties :) And Inuyasha is growing on me along with Lupin but the jury is out on Conan(but it's a decent show).Wolfwood comes back to Trigun on saturday and this week's CB is Cowboy Funk!

I'm still waiting on the CB dvd, blame media mail by the looks of things

Joesph: my girls have been updated and I'll write up a Nicole sometime today. She picked John for LCS

"I think it's time to blow this scene.Get everybody and their stuff together.Ok 3 2 1 let's jam"

See you space cowboys
